VS LUBBOCK MONTEREY - 09/28/2007

HOMECOMING IS SWEET IN 44-7 BLAST
Permian rushed for 336 yards and for the first time this season did not have a touchdown pass. The Panthers still clobbered the Plainsmen 44-7 and improved to 5-0 for the first time since 1995.  Esai Sotelo had 99 rushing yards on 16 carries, while Sherard Ray had 90-yards on eight carries.  Each scored a touchdown. Jamison Berryhill added 71 yards and a touchdown and quarterback Taylor Byrd ran for 60 yards and two TDs.

The Permian defense turned in another solid performance, limiting the Plainsmen to 211 of total offense. Monterey quarterback John Paul Floyd threw for 129 yards and a touchdown. In the fourth quarter, Floyd’s last two passes were intercepted, with Andrew Amoyaw returning it 23 yards for the game’s final touchdown.  The Panthers will now enjoy a week off to get healthy for the district opener with Midland Lee.

FIRST HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL MUSEUM

The first ever virtual Permian High School football museum honors a history known the world over and has now opened to the internet community.  If you were a part of the early days of PHS (60s, 70s, or 80s), we would like for you to share your greatest memory with us for inclusion in the museum.  This includes the best game, road trips to Ratliff East, burning the Angry Orange candles in front of the Field House, the countless splinters from W.T. Barrett Stadium, or what it's like being a graduate of Permian High School... unless it's the Original, all you have is imitation.
