MOJO EXPLODES ON REBELS, 48-20
The Panthers
scored three touchdowns in the first quarter and four more in the second quarter to embarrass Midland Lee in their own house.  Permian scored on seven of nine first half possessions.  The Black Cats had six different players score.  Lavorick Williams scored on a 40-yarder and 31-yard touchdown catch.  Tate Smith, Jarvas Morris, Esai Sotello and Shaquay Gant each rushed for touchdowns, with Gant leading Permian’s ground game with 77 yards on five carries.  In the second half, the Panthers came out a little flat, which made way for the Rebels to put 20 points up to close the scoring at 48-20.

ODESSA HIGH 51, ABILENE COOPER 0
Cooper entered the game minus running back JoJo Jones, running back A’mon Pimpton, district leading receiver Ricky Stevenson, and defensive lineman Michael Caffey.  The Cougars saw their six first-half possessions end with a pair of punts, two interceptions, and back-to-back failed fourth-down conversions.  It didn’t get any better for Cooper in the second half.  The Cougars did move the ball into the red zone on several occasions, driving as deep as the 5-yard line in the third quarter, but wound up with nothing. Zach Stewart threw 52 passes for 256 yards and was intercepted three times.  For Odessa High, Malcolm Hunt had 134 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries, David Camacho had 104 yards and a touchdown on three carries plus 98 yards and a score through the air, and Byron Monahan had 102 yards and a score on three catches.

ABILENE HIGH 28, MIDLAND HIGH 19
Spens Lackey’s 244 passing yards, 52 rushing yards and two total touchdowns led AHS over Midland High.  Bulldogs running back Brandon Batch was held to only 63 yards on the ground and was kept out of the end zone.  AHS running back Brandon Williams was able to score two touchdowns.  AHS started its first drive of the game from the MHS 40 after the defense forced a three-and-out and the ensuing punt traveled only 17 yards. The Eagles took advantage and scored on the last of three consecutive Lackey runs, the final one coming from 5 yards out. The Eagles came right back with a 75-yard drive to take a 14-6 halftime lead.  AHS added a touchdown on a 7-yard run by Williams to increase the lead to 21-12 early in the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs scored when Joe Roberson caught a TD pass from 32 yards out to pull Midland within two. Williams scored again to put the game out of reach.
