Yards 4 Youth
The final week of
district watched Permian (5-0) proclaim the 3-5A crown with the
52-16 clobbering of Midland High (1-4). Abilene High (4-1)
protected its number two spot by eliminating Odessa High (1-4) in a
close 33-26 encounter. Midland Lee (3-2) claimed the third
playoff spot by outlasting Abilene Cooper (1-4) in a 35-28 battle.
Abilene High will face Lewisville Hebron in Texas Stadium in the Division II tourney.

Cooper played the lone
district game. The Cougars took a 17-7 halftime
lead and fought off the Brownwood Lions for a 24-17 Homecoming
victory.
Permian, Abilene,
Midland,
Odessa and
Lee were all idle in preparation for the district games.
