ABILENE HIGH 28, MIDLAND HIGH 14
ABILENE -- Abilene High outlasted the Midland Bulldogs 28-14, after the two teams spent the first three quarters trading scores.  On its first drive, the Eagles mixed it up with five pass plays, all completions by Johnson, and four running plays.  With 3:25 left in the first half, Midland’s Jeff Jones punted a ball 33 yards to Abilene punt return man Kendrick Starks, who rambled his way into the endzone.  The Eagles went in with a 14-7 lead at the half.  In the second half, AHS defensive back David Salas put an end to a late Midland drive when he snagged an interception in the endzone.  Eagle running back Kobey Lewis pushed the ball in from three yards out for the score a little over three minutes into the game.
