RED RAIDERS DECLAW JAGUARS
With Lee clinging to a 24-23 lead over Horn, Josh Aubrey intercepted
a pass and returned it 45 yards for the game-winning
touchdown in the 31-23 victory over Mesquite Horn.
Lee led 7-0 after the first quarter on a 1-yard touchdown run by
Jamal Mitchell, but was outscored 23-7 in the second quarter. Mitchell finished the game with three
touchdowns and 64 yards. The heavy lifting was done by sophomore Da
Da Brown, who carried 20 times for 147 yards.

WACO EDGES OUT RAIDERS
The Red Raiders led 7-0 in the second quarter on a
1-yard scoring run by Jamal Mitchell. His touchdown
capped a 19-play 89-yard drive. REL added another
in the third quarter on an 87-yard fumble return by
Jordan Aubrey. It wasn't enough as Waco claimed a
19-15 decision over the Red Raiders in Waco ISD Stadium.
Waco took the lead late in the fourth quarter when a
fake punt set up the Lions for the game-winning score.
Waco quarterback Clarence Willis scored on a 7-yard
keeper and Ernesto Guevara converted the PAT with 5:53
remaining.

LEE GET EAGLE EYE
Abilene's
Hunter Cooke scooped up a loose fumble and returned it 33 yards
to help the Eagles defeat Tyler Lee 21-6 at Texas Stadium. Cooke's touchdown was set up when P.J.
Butler and Chris Williams drilled Luke Wagner. Lee unleashed a strong running attack behind Jamal Mitchell and Da Da
Brown, who combined for 189 yards. The Raiders drew first blood, taking the opening kickoff 61 yards and
scoring when Joseph Cleaver booted a 36-yard field goal. AHS
scored on its second possession on a 3-yard QB sneak. The Raiders
trailed 7-3 at the half.

FIELD GOAL DEFEATS KIMBALL
Joseph Cleaver
nailed a 35-yard field goal with 3:16 remaining to give
the Red Raiders a 3-2 win over Dallas Kimball. It was
the only points Lee scored all game. Lee sophomore
quarterback Luke Wagner finished with 96 yards passing
and Jamal Mitchell rushed for 45 yards to lead REL on
the ground. Kimball grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first
quarter courtesy of a safety by Lee on a snap over the
punter's head. The score stood until late in the fourth
quarter.

TROJANS SURVIVE WAR
The Raiders fought a tough battle, but came out on the
short end in the 21-10 loss to Euless Trinity. The
Trojans scored 14 unanswered points in the fourth
quarter to claim the win. The Red Raiders took a
10-7 lead late in the third quarter on a 45-yard field
goal by senior Joseph Cleaver. Quarterback Brandon
Rogers got hurt in the fourth quarter and is expected to
miss the remainder of the non-district games.

RAIDERS CLAIM 27-24 VICTORY
With Lee and Lake Highlands tied 24-24 and 10 seconds on
the clock, Joseph Cleaver connected for a 28-yard field
goal to give the Red Raiders a 27-24 victory. The
Red Raiders built a 24-0 second-half lead, but Lake
Highlands rallied to tie the game late in the fourth
quarter. Lee quarterback Brandon Rogers completed
11-of-22 passes for 134 yards and rushed for 63 yards.
Jamal Mitchell scored two rushing touchdowns and
sophomore Da Da Brown rushed for 56 yards and a
touchdown. Cleaver was perfect on extra points and
2-for-3 on field goals with a 33-yard kick and the
game-winner.

TOUGH SCRIMMAGE FOR RAIDERS
DeSoto's Cyrus Gray rushed 11 times for 100 yards
and two touchdowns to lead the Eagles past Lee, 18-6, in
their controlled scrimmage. The Red Raiders began
the day by working on their extra points and punt
coverage before moving to the second session, which
featured each team's offense going against the defense
for 20 plays and 15 plays. Gray provided the lone
touchdown in the 15-minute running quarter session as
the DeSoto senior eluded several Lee defenders to switch
field and score on a 23-yard run.

LEE READIES FOR STATE 7-ON-7
The Red Raiders,
who are making their eighth consecutive trip to College
Station for the state tournament, begin their quest for
a second 7-on-7 state title at 2 p.m. Friday at the
Penberthy Fields on the campus of Texas A&M University.
REL finished second in pool play last year to qualify
for the championship bracket, but was eliminated in the
first round. Lee not only made it to the
championship bracket in 2004, but won it all, defeating
Katy Taylor 40-26 in the title game. Lee is Pool N and
will face Langham Creek at 2pm before battling Lake
Travis at 4pm and Sherman at 6 pm.
